What Is AreaLook.com About – Scam or Legit?

Let us now find out more on What Is AreaLook.com. As said, they are a new site and so we hope this research, laced with some personal opinion, is helpful for you. We will be detailing our sources so you are welcome to continue your research elsewhere as well. We start by seeking data on the founder name, business address, contact information on when their site began.

question

www.arealook.com scam-check!

Registration was for only just a year. So that can be deemed a little ‘suspicious’ as past and present scam sites have only registered for 1 or 2 years and vanished without warning. That is akin to the typical scam pattern laid down by many proven to be fake sites.

However, it is NOT in itself cause to call a site a scam. The founder may be seeing how things go for them within the online world of selling. This is something also for you to consider as a legit and honest point of view.

Registration was in 2019/01/11 and ends same date in 2020. The only thing we have for an address is ‘CN’ which is China. You don’t need anyone to tell you that is an incomplete address and so you should be asking why this is so.

But, you must consider that the founder may not want to be overrun with spam and so that is another point of view that could be at play here.

We go to their site now to try to find out the info that was not present when they registered their site. We can see that they have left service@arealook.com seems to be their preferred method of providing customer support. Has anyone here got a response from that email?

Having looked at their site I do not see a customer support number nor do I see an address for their business. Where this information is missing then it maybe cause for concern. It is one thing to have it missing in WHOIS but to have no other form of contact other than an email address is not good, in my view.

AreaLook.com Scam Signs.

  • Per their Facebook Page comment, by them, they are based in Hong Kong. It is worth noting that most fake shopping sites are from China and so that is another thing to consider. That is not to say they are a scam site though.
  • No address for their business given anywhere only that they are somewhere in Hong Kong.
  • Founder name is not displayed.
  • Contact information is nominal.
  • They are a new site. As a new start-up how then can they afford to give away up to 70% discounts?
  • They say, in one comment response to a customer query, that “you will get what you pay for”. This conjures a worry in me that you may not get the high quality items they are advertising but perhaps a lower range of quality.
  • A website called ScamDoc.com has given ‘AreaLook’ a Trust Score of Just 1%!! That is a site that has an artificial intelligence algorithym calculating that score.

Final Thoughts.

They is a lack of complaints about their site and that is a huge positive to keep in mind. Their Facebook Page we could not not 1 complaint about their company. This is obviously another good sign.

Those with reports, customer reviews, complaints, positive/negative reviews, are welcome to submit those reports below in the comments.

Where we get too many negative reports about them (if any) then we will put them into our List of Internet Scammers. That is all for now on What Is AreaLook.com and looking forward to hearing from you and others below.

Do not order from this company, it is a total scam, and they work the system if you try to dispute the charge. I ordered 3 items, never received an email confirmation of the items ordered, first clue. Then after 6-7 weeks, I received 2 of the items (nothing as pictured or described). Emailed in regards to remaining item, received automated response. Email in regards to return, received same automated response. No way to contact them, disputed through my bank, of which they received a copy of the USPS waybill (which even indicated it was a “partial delivery”) from Arealook’s bank. My bank is honoring the charge b/c Arealook (or its bank) provided a USPS waybill with my name and address. My bank stated without documentation as to what I ordered, no way to dispute their claim I received a total order (despite their evidence stating it was a “partial delivery”). Arealook (or whatever company name they use – there are several) knows the US banking system and ensures it can defend itself against fraud claims by not providing email/or written confirmation from the start, clever and sneaky. As consumers, we need to be more diligent, if it looks to good to be true, it is!

Unfortunately I made similar experience like the people wrote below. I ordered 5 pieces 6 weeks ago. I didn’t receive anything until now. Two weeks after my order I asked about the delivery. It took almost 2 weeks to get an answer. The answer was : it will take 15-20 working days to get the first 2 items. By checking the web site I notice that the company is based in Hongkong. Than I knew it that this is a scam. To late for me. I placed the order beginn of april and didn’t receive any of the ordered items so far. Instead we have a mail conversation to nowhere.
I was wondering if there are another possibility to make public that this company is cheating on people. I don’t thing that leaving a comment here will help the further potential customer. I’m happy for any suggestion.

      Hi Mila,

I would like to say that because a company is from this region does not make them a scam. However, most fake e-stores are from this region and so your suspicion is probably considered quite normal. In this instance, more than s justified. AreaLook is without doubt not good.

You can also report to bbb.org. OnlineThreatAlerts. OnlineScamAlerts.com.

You can report them to your payment provider also to possibly get a refund. You are welcome to let us know how that turns out if you have th e time.

Thanks again Mila and wish you well with this situation and sorry this happened to you ~ Philip.

      Hello Mila,

Most e-stores that are fake are from such regions but not all from this region are scams. It is worth saying this to be fair to the honest retailers out there.

You can report to the bbb.org, onlinethreatalerts and that will hurt their reputation. TrustPilot is another.

You an also apply for a refund and you are welcome to let us know how that goes if you decide to do so.

Thank you kindly Mila for your report here and wish you well. ~ Philip.

I ordered a dress from AreaLook and it took over a month to arrive. My credit card was charged immediately. The dress is nothing like the photo on the website. I’ve emailed them this morning to let them know I’d like to return for a refund. We’ll see what happens. Wish I’d seen this website before I ordered.

I ordered four dresses 6 weeks ago. Just received one yesterday. I ordered a large but even though it is tagged as large it is definitely a small. Wish I had known the order is from China. I would never have ordered anything. I paid with my Visa card but don’t know how to get reimbursed. My credit card can’t do anything.

Well like the rest of you I was taken in by this Arealook. I ordered 4 dresses that I wanted for summer. I placed and paid for my order March 19th , 2019 and today is April 26, 2019 . I received one dress recently which looks nothing like the picture because it is so cheaply made. I wrote several messages to them asking where my order was with no response. I paid thankfully thru pay pal so I sent it to the resolution center still with no reply still so I escalated it and finally Arealook sent me an email and said they could not deal with me while I had reported them in a dispute with paypal. I tried to reply back but could not get it to go thru. Now Arealook cancelled all my items which I can see on their website! In my personal dealings with them I would advise noone to get involved with them. You can’t reach them and they take your money and if you are lucky enough to get an article from them it will be made cheaply!!
I definitely feel this place is a scam!!!!

I ordered 2items on 313/2019, nothing received yet, nor an email saying it’s been shipped. And I was already billed on my credit card. I have sent emails inquiring information on the shipment , they keep saying 5-12 more days . Now they are not answering my emails.
Do I contact credit card company or PayPal?

Thank you, I’ll never do this again! Wish I’d done my research!

I wish that I had read this site before I made the mistake of ordering from Arealook.com. What a disaster, they sent a Medium tee shirt, that didn’t fit my 6 year old. The fabric was revolting, like nylon lining, very cheap and ugly. Then I found that there was no way to return the items. Their fake website has a verification code that doesn’t work, so no way of getting the address to return the items.
Keep up the good work of warning people against buying from these cheats.

I am so upset…I wish I would have seen this blog before I ordered from them. I bought a bunch of things from them for my trip down south with my husband. I wanted to get some nice dresses and t-shirts and well…everything above that was said about this company is true! Some stuff still hasn’t arrived and I leave soon. The items that did some where NOT what I ordered at all – doesn’t even look the same as the pictures. The things that did arrive and look somewhat like the pictures are way too small. They wouldn’t even fit my 10 year old. I am so very discouraged for a couple of reasons…I spent all of this money and have nothing to show for it AND now I have to go shopping in a hurry to get some things for my trip and have to spend more money. What a horrible experience. I also find that this company works under different company names like Cupshe and Breezeholiday. Their clothes are very similar if not exactly the same…I suspect that when people “catch on”, they put their company under a different name. I am not even sure what to do at this point…they don’t answer emails…you can’t call…and I spent all of this money! So very upsetting.

Wish I’d seen these reviews earlier. Horrible & deceptive advertising . Items received are trash .
No info for returns . After 6 e mail attempts requesting return address. Each correspondence came w/ apology of my dislike of orders , I should consider the expensive for me to return ?? What ? The items were sent from the US & took 35 days to arrive . Packaging plastic wrap ..
I was told to keep the items , or give to someone who may like it ( WHAT???? ) they would offer me $14.00 shopping voucher or $12.00 credit to my bank . (Like I’d give them my bank info )
I requested they take the $14.00 & pay for return shipping .. so mad .
Notified cc company of shadiness and asked they dispute charges – cc refunded the amount to me –
    What a horrible experience ..

Just got my order and it is pure garbage! The sizing is ridiculous! I knew I would have to size up a couple of sizes hoping the 5x would be a 2x but it’s barely a 1x. And they are made for very short people. I am only 5’3” and the length is barely waist long. The worst part is the cheap fabric with a cheap pasted print. It’s the same material as cheap ribbon. I can’t even resell this junk and I’ll not spend one more dime returning it.

Never and I repeat never order anything from them. Clothes quality below zero; prices stellar compared to the product output; customer service non-existing and non-responsive. I placed an order on 03/09 and I am still waiting for a refund after hundreds of emails. Below all the details. I wish I had seen your review before!

I placed an order on 03/08 including three items for a total amount of $85.48.

On 03/29 they agreed to cancel part of the order for two items that they never shipped and refund me the partial amount of $59.38 within 7-10 days. As of today 04/11 I still don’t see this refund on my bank account.

For the third item included in this order I received it on 04/01 and as I was not satisfied I decided to return it and have them refund me the remaining amount of $26.1 to my card. The package was received today 04/11 at the address they provided which is:

    Receiver: Jimmy
    Address: 1372 WILSON STREET
    City: Los Angeles
    State: CA
    Zip Code: 90021
    TEL:213-623-1016

I have also threatened them to file an official complaint with the appropriate US authorities (Bureau of Consumer Protection and Federal Trade Commission), but again I have not received a refund as of today.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT order anything from this company. I fell for their scam by foolishly thinking the items would look like the photos and would be made of fabrics as described on their website. Nothing arrived as shown, in fact, I agree with the other post who said the fabrics are most likely flammable. CHEAPLY MADE from plasticky, horrid colored chemically ridden “fabrics”. The ‘stitching’ on one of the tops is literally a photo of stitching on the fabric. Laughable.
Furthermore, good luck trying to return anything. I was told this morning via email that it would cost me more to send packages back to China than the order is worth! WOW!

I ordered 2 items. Received one item that took weeks to receive. Did not like quality or sizing. Several emails to them for return address. They finally sent me address at 1372 Wilson St Los Angeles, CA 90021. Tel # is a fax # 213 623-1016. Said returned item refund is 15-20 working days. Their website says fast prompt refund. Concerned return will never get processed. Canceled second item a week ago & have not seen the refunded amount on my credit card. Would not order from this company again.

I ordered 3 items from Arealook.com on March 8. I contacted them twice regarding my order and heard nothing back until I threatened to cancel my payment (March 30). I then received an answer that 1 of the items was on the way, but the other 2 are still being “processed”. The tracking information indicates that the item is currently in Chicago. I would not recommend this company.
